3 Shootings, 3 Minutes: 7 Wounded Across Brooklyn, Reports Say
Separate shootings in Bed-Stuy, Brownsville and Flatbush unfolded in a matter of minutes late Monday, according to reports.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — A trio of Brooklyn shootings unfolded in as many minutes late Monday, according to reports.
Seven people ultimately went to the hospital in separate shootings from 10:41 p.m. to 10:44 p.m., the New York Daily News reported.
The first shooting occurred in Bed-Stuy on Bainbridge Street near Malcolm X Boulevard, the report states. Two men, 27 and 34, were shot in the leg — one critically in a major artery, according to the report.

Meanwhile in Flatbush, a 35-year-old man was shot at the intersection Flatbush and Ditmas avenues. He went to the hospital, the report states.
And finally, four people were shot in Brownsville after a man sprayed bullets at a crowd on Bristol Street near Lott Avenue, according to the report. A woman was shot in the head and is in the hospital for critical injuries, the report states.

The shootings occurred amid the backdrop of Mayor Bill de Blasio pledging to shift an as-yet-undetermined amount of funding from the NYPD to youth and social services — a concession of sorts to "defund the police" calls from demonstrators protesting the killing of George Floyd and police brutality.
