Bed-Stuy Cyclist Attacker Told Mom He Was Upset About Earlier Fight: Report
Gary Anderson fought with 3 men then vented his frustration on Domingo Tapia, who happened to ride by on his bike, the Daily News reported.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — The man accused of punching a cyclist and leaving him in a coma told his mother he did it out of out anger at three other people, according to reports.
Gary Anderson, 26, was still angry about an earlier fight with three men when Domingo Tapia, 38, happened to ride by him on Fulton Street near Albany Avenue on June 8, according to police and a New York Daily News report.
The agitated Anderson snapped, punched the father of two to the ground and left him lying on the pavement, police said.

Tapia was rushed to Kings County Hospital where he remains in a medically induced coma, police said.
Anderson was arrested Thursday and arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Friday on charges of assault, menacing and harassment, court records show.

Prosecutors said Anderson was arrested after he confessed to his mother what he had done, the Daily News reported.
"The defendant admitted to his mother that he was the one who punched the person in this case,” a Brooklyn prosecutor said, “and told detectives 'I know what's going on.'"
Defense attorney Dale Ventura reportedly told the court, "This is not in the character of Mr. Anderson."
Anderson was held on $10,000 bail, according to the Daily News.
