Bed-Stuy Fire Kills 79-Year-Old Woman, Police Say
Elizabeth Mahone lost her life when a fire erupted in her Bed-Stuy home, police said.

BEDFORD STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A 79-year-old woman was killed when a fire erupted in her home on Saturday, police said.
Firefighters rushed to put out the flames that erupted inside 479 Quincy St. at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.
But they were unable to dave the life of Elizabeth Mahone, whose lifeless body they found in the building’s basement, according to police.

Firefighters later determined the all-hands fire was accidental, according to the FDNY.
