BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A mountain of tobacco violations buried a Brooklyn bodega suspected to be at the heart of rash of K2 overdoses. City officials on Wednesday closed Big Boy Deli under a sealing order.

The order details two years of tobacco violations and a longer history of suspicions of drug dealing — specifically of K2 or "synthetic marijuana" — at the deli, which sits on Broadway and Flushing Avenue.

New York City Sheriff Joseph Fucito tabulated the illegal activity by way of one long sentence within the order.

"This location is well known to my office as a place with a substantial history of possessing and/or selling untaxed cigarettes and banned tobacco products, as well as illegal drugs such as khat and synthetic marijuana ('K2'), and the unauthorized sale or offering for sale of prescription medications and alcoholic beverages, in addition to the sale of cigarettes to minors," he wrote.

Four Big Boy Deli employees were arrested in 2018 following at least 15 K2 overdoses near the store.

The order itself alludes to K2 and other drugs, but the 18 violations that led to the closure relate to illegal tobacco and cigarette sales.

Store employees sold tobacco to minors, untaxed cigarettes and "loosies" — single cigarettes — the order states.
