Bed-Stuy Stabbing Leaves Man Dead, 4-Year-Old Hospitalized: Cops
The 79-year-old man, 4-year-old girl and a 49-year-old man were all slashed in an apartment on Putnam Avenue, police said.
BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — An elderly man is dead and two others are in the hospital after a stabbing in a Bed-Stuy apartment on Sunday, police said.
Cops found 79-year-old James Dubose with a stab wound to his abdomen, a 49-year-old man with a slash wound on his hand and a 4-year-old girl with a slash on her hip at the Putnam Avenue building just before 6:30 p.m., police said.
Dubose was pronounced dead at Interfaith Hospital. The 49-year-old and 4-year-old were taken to Kings County and Woodhull Hospital, respectively, in stable condition, police said.

Police revealed Monday afternoon that a 22-year-old taken into custody after the stabbing has been charged with murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and acting in a manner to injure a child.
The man, Dayquan Dubose, appears to be related to at least one of his victims. Both Dayquan and James lived at the Putnam Avenue apartment, records show.

Police did not specify a motive for the attack.
