Brooklyn, New York – The Bedford Stuyvesant Annual House and Garden Tour has historically been a draw for thousands of visitors. Now in its 33rd year, the Brownstoners will once again showcase a collection of the community’s finest brownstones and limestones. This year promises to be a declaration of the vibrant familial ambiance that has traditionally been rooted in Bed-Stuy. The self-guided tour will begin at the historic “Old Boys” High School, located at 832 Marcy Avenue, near the corner of Putnam Avenue, from 11 A.M.-4P.M., rain or shine.

Now looking for homes to be on their 33rd Annual House Tour. Do you live near a gem? Do you own a gem? Do you want to share your work-in-progress? Or do you want to showcase your completed renovation? Reach out to the Brownstoners today. You can email the home owner's, address name and contact phone number to brownstonersofbedstuy@gmail.com. Any questions can be directed to the email as well. The Housing Committee Chairperson will follow up with all interested homeowners.
Tourgoers will experience, first-hand, the sophistication embodied within these brownstones and limestones, many of which date back as far as the early 18th century. They will have the opportunity to speak directly with homeowners to learn about restoration, landscaping, general maintenance and many more of the practicalities of owning a brownstone. Displaying works-in-progress and fully renovated homes, the tour has traditionally proven to be an invaluable experience for homeowners and homebuyers alike. Attendees will receive a Tour Brochure at 11A.M. sharp. The Brochure is mandatory for entry into the homes. The Brochure is a handy keepsake and reference tool that documents the unique story behind each home on tour.

For over 33 years the mission of the Brownstoners of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Inc. is to faithfully serve the Bedford Stuyvesant community. Dedicated not only to instilling pride in Bed-Stuy residents, this non-profit, 501c3, volunteer civic organization has performed a variety of community services which span from literacy programs to their annual Tax Lien Outreach Project. In fact, proceeds from the house tour will benefit the McDonald/Glee Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to college bound graduates of Boys and Girls High School who will be attending an HBCU. The Joan Maynard Scholarship is also benefited, which awards scholarships to college bound graduates of the historic “Old Boys” High School. The school has been currently renamed Brooklyn Academy High School.
