Brooklyn Father Shot Dead In Front of Sons: Police And Reports
David Dottin was with his two teenaged sons when he was shot in the head, according to police and reports.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn man was shot dead in front of his two sons Sunday night, according to police and reports.
David Dottin, 49, was with his 11 and 17-year-old sons outside 50 Herkimer Pl. around 8:50 p.m. when he was shot in the head, said police and the New York Daily News. The NYPD has been unable to identify the gunman.
“He just dropped,” said Davion, Dottin’s younger son, according to the Daily News. “And we started seeing blood from his head.”

“We were talking about boxing,” Dottin’s older son Dason told the New York Post. “That’s when I heard the gun shot.

“Then he fell down. I thought he was going to get back up, but then I saw blood.”
Dottin, of Crown Heights, was rushed to Kings County Hospital where we was pronounced dead.
Dottin was one of several to be attacked as the neighborhood got ready for the impending J'Ouvert street parade. Another Brooklyn man was shot in the chest.
Police had not yet located the shooter as of Tuesday morning but found three shell casings on the scene.
