Cops Arrest Gunman In Bed-Stuy Playground Killing

Tyjuan Cassidy stands accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Lester Jack in the John Hancock playground last month, police said.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN -- Police arrested the Brooklyn man they believe murdered a 22-year-old in a Bed-Stuy basketball court last month.

Tyjuan Cassidy, 39, stands accused of fatally shooting Jack Lester, 22, in the John Hancock basketball courts on Hancock Street and Spencer Place on Sept. 2, said police.

Lester was rushed to Interfaith Medical Center, but doctors were unable to save his life, according to police.

Police arrested Cassidy, of Crown Heights, Tuesday evening and charged him with murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

Cassidy's arraignment is pending in Brooklyn Criminal Court, records show.
