CURATING FOR A CURE
Jackie Cantwell's DC organization Curating for a Cause is finally coming out of hibernation to host their first New York charity art auction to benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 7pm at their new permanent home The Bishop.
Every four minutes, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, with more than 137,200 new cases this year. Leukemia causes more deaths among children and young adults under the age of 20 than any other cancer. With these staggering rates, chances are good that many of us will be directly affected by blood cancers at some point in our lives.
LLS Man of the Year hopeful, Leo Tucker has been inspired by niece Yannick Tucker ,who is currently fighting lymphoma. Tucker is more than halfway to his goal and this event can bring him and LLS even closer to finding treatments, therapies and a cure for blood cancer. Please join us for a fabulous night of silent and live auctions, Hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and to support blood cancer research and programs that will ensure those who are afflicted by blood cancers can live better, longer lives.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services. Curating for a Cause has generously supported LLS in the past, and seeks to continue the relationship by hosting an auction at The Bishop. The event will be curated by Jackie Cantwell and Molly Myer.
