Cyclist Attacked In Bed-Stuy Is Father Who Was Heading Home From Work: Reports
Police are searching for the man who punched Domingo Diego-Tapia with enough strength to knock him to the ground and fracture his skull.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — The cyclist who sustained severe head injuries when he was punched to the ground in Bed-Stuy was a father riding home to his wife and sons, according to police and reports.
Domingo Diego-Tapia, 38, was riding his bike down Fulton Street near Albany Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on June 8 when he was punched in the face by an unknown man, according to police and DNAinfo New York.
Diego-Tapia was on his way home from the grocery store where works, heading toward his wife and two sons, aged five and seven, when he was knocked off his bike and cracked his skull, his wife, Esther Diaz, 33, told DNAinfo.

"He's not good," Diaz said of her husband, who underwent two surgeries before being placed in a medically-induced coma. "All I can do is wait and hope."
Police released photos of the suspect, a man in his twenties seen wearing a Nike baseball cap and a long-sleeved shirt with the letter "G" on the front, on Friday.

Diego-Tapia was not robbed and neither police nor Diaz were sure what sparked the attack, according to an NYPD spokesman and the DNAinfo report.
