Dead Man Found Tied With Rope And Wire In Brooklyn Blaze: NYPD
Police ruled Alvin Thomas' death was a homicide after firefighters discovered him tied up in his Chauncey Street home in September.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — Firefighters found a murdered man tied up with rope and wires after his Bed-Stuy home caught fire last month, police and sources said.
Alvin Thomas, 60, was discovered lying unconscious inside 466 Chauncey St. around 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, after firefighters had extinguished a blaze in the man's home, police said.
Thomas, who was pronounced dead on the scene, was wrapped up in ropes and wires, police and sources said.

Officials are still investigating what caused the fire and whether the fire caused Thomas' death, said police.
The FDNY did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
