HATMAKER NATISHA AMOUR AND JEWELER ROBERT BASSAL, FROM BED-STUY, EXHIBIT AND SELL THEIR WORK AT NYCREATES HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR DEC. 6-7 AT THE BROOKLYN HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Exhibitors will also sell handmade ceramics, photography, ornaments, candles and art. Admission is free.

Bed Stuy-based hatmaker Natisha Amour and jeweler, Robert Bassal, will join 38 other artists and artisans at the NYCreates 11th Holiday Craft Fair December 6-7, 2014, in the landmark Brooklyn Historical Society’s Great Hall.

NYCreates is a non-profit organization [501c3], committed to expand opportunities, visibility and marketability of NYC’s crafts artists and artisans.

Amour makes whimsical, fashionable handcrafted hats in a range of fabrics and colors which she details with ribbons, feathers and other fun ornaments.

Robert Bassal transforms handcrafted metalwork into unusual jewelry.

In addition to Bed Stuy, Brooklyn talent—19 artisans and artists in all--comes from neighborhoods such as Gowanus, Bay Ridge, Brighton Beach, Bath Beach and Park Slope as well as Greenwood Heights, South Slope, Red Hook, Dyker Heights, Carroll Gardens and Sheepshead Bay.

The largest number specialize in handcrafted ceramics that reflect a remarkable range of creativity in ornaments and table jewelry to handsome mugs, teapots–even napkin rings and salt cellars. In addition to Amour and Bassal, the borough also boasts a candle maker and crochet expert as well as fine artists and a photographer who will exhibit and sell their best work in time for the holidays.
