New Japanese Tapas Restaurant With Raw Bar Opening In Bed Stuy
Trad Room owners hope to soon open their Japanese eatery on Malcolm X Boulevard.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A new Japanese restaurant is getting ready to open on Malcolm X Boulevard.
Trad Room — a Japanese tapas restaurant and raw bar — is expected to open at 266 Malcolm X Boulevard near Halsey Street, city records show.
Plans for the Asian eatery have been in the works since November, 2016, when owner Anna Son made her presentation to the Bed-Stuy Community Board, DNAinfo reported at the time.

“What we are looking for is to be out of touch from all the media and craziness, just being with each other and have some small dishes or drinks,” said Son. “There’s no loud music, just people talking, sitting, enjoying each other.”
Son said the menu would feature both a raw bar and full menu, and the restaurant’s Instagram account has since been teasing dishes such as homemade kimchi, pork tongue hams, pickled eggs and oyster gratin.
