See how Tropical Storm Isaias made its mark on Brooklyn on Tuesday. More than 8,000 across the borough could wait days to get power back.

BROOKLYN, NY — Tropical Storm Isaias left its mark on Brooklyn as it ripped through the borough on Tuesday.
Only about 1.45 inches of rain fell on Brooklyn during the hours-long storm, but the nearly 50 mph winds proved to cause the most damage, cutting power for more than 20,000 Brooklynites at its peak and downing trees across the borough.
Not to mention, causing chaos on local subway lines for most of the day.

At least 2,000 trees were knocked down or otherwise damaged across the five boroughs, Mayor Bill de Blasio told 1010 WINS in an interview Tuesday afternoon.
In one case, it proved fatal: A man was killed in Briarwood in Queens after a tree came down on his car.

Roughly 100,000 New Yorkers, more than 8,000 in Brooklyn, were still without power on Wednesday, according to Con Edison's outage map.
The power company said restoring service could take multiple days. Isaias managed to create the second-largest storm-related outage in Con Edison's history, according to the company.
In Brooklyn, a good bulk of the remaining outages hit the South Eastern part of the borough, with a few thousand in the Sheepshead Bay and East Flatbush areas.
Queens, with 45,000 at the peak of the storm, had the most customers without power on Tuesday, according to the company. But it was Staten Island that suffered the biggest proportion of customers without power. Soon after the storm passed, about 20 percent of Staten Island customers were without power.

From my apartment it seemed like Brooklyn was mostly spared as Isaias blew through so fast, but a walk around the perimeter of Prospect Park this evening convinced me otherwise! pic.twitter.com/wmXspuFCnX
