Shooting Suspects T-Bone Police Car In Getaway Attempt in Bed-Stuy: NYPD

A Nissan Altima raced down a Bed-Stuy street Wednesday night, ran a red light and crashed into a marked police car, said an NYPD spokesman.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — Two officers were injured Wednesday night when two shooting suspects raced through a red light and t-boned their police car, according to an NYPD spokesman.

Plainclothes officers heard gunshots near Saratoga Avenue and Halsey Street around 10:50 p.m., then saw a dark 2005 Nissan Altima careening away down MacDonough Avenue near Howard avenue, police said.

The Brooklyn North Gang Unit officers signaled to the driver to stop, but he ran a red light and, at the intersection of MacDonough and Ralph avenues, slammed into a marked police car with two officers inside it, according to police.
