Teen Hurls Candy, Insults, Punches At C Train Straphanger, Police Say

A woman was followed into the Utica Avenue station by a teenager who chucked candy at her then later punched her in the face, said police.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A teenaged girl hurled candy and insults at a woman on a C train, then followed her to the Nostrand Avenue stop and punched her in the face, according to police.

The 23-year-old victim was followed at the Utica Avenue station by a group of teenagers who began chucking candy at her around 7:30 p.m. on March 2, police said.

When the woman later exited her train at Nostrand Avenue, she was followed by one of the teenagers who began to argue and soon punched the woman in the face, said police.

The suspect — an approximately 16-year-old girl with black hair caught on surveillance footage wearing a grey sweatsuit and black jacket — fled the station and ran off in an unknown direction, according to police.

The victim refused medical attention, said police.
