2-Year-Old Boy Hit By Car In Bed-Stuy, Police Say

The toddler escaped his babysitter and ran into traffic near Flushing and Tompkins avenues early Tuesday evening, police said.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A two-year-old boy escaped his babysitter, ran into traffic and was hit by a vehicle Tuesday night, according to police and reports.

The toddler and his sitter were walking near Flushing and Tompkins avenues about 5:15 p.m. when he darted out into the street, said police.

The 17-year-old babysitter rushed the little boy, who suffered injuries all over his body, to Kings County Hospital, according to a DNAinfo report.

He was later transferred to Maimonides Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The driver remained on the scene and is not expected to be charged with a crime, police said.
