1 Business Caught in Underage Drinking Sting: Police

Ten area businesses were tested with an people under 21 who tried to buy alcohol.

BEDFORD, NY — The state police conducted an underage drinking detail recently in the towns of Lewisboro, Somers, North Salem and Pound Ridge.

The initiative utilized a person under 21 years of age who tried to purchase alcohol.

There was one establishment that, police said, sold alcohol to the underaged individual.

An employee of ACME Supermarket, in the Goldens Bridge Shopping Center on State Route 22 in Goldens Bridge was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child.

The woman was issued an appearance ticket to returnable to the Town of Lewisboro Court September 12.

Her employer could face possible civil penalties from the State Liquor Authority, police said.

State Police officials said the following businesses were visited and did not sell to the the underage buyer:

  • Mobil Mart State Route 100 Somers, N.Y.
  • Goldens Bridge Fine Wine and Spirits Goldens Bridge Shopping Center State Route 22, Goldens Bridge N.Y.
  • Cross River Wine Merchant State Route 121 Cross River, N.Y.
  • DeCicco’s Supermarket State Route 121 Cross River N.Y.
  • Scott's Corner Market Westchester Ave. Pound Ridge, N.Y.
  • Pound Ridge Wine and Spirits Westchester Ave. Pound Ridge, N.Y.
  • 7-11 Store State Route 100 Somers, N.Y.
  • Front Street Cellar Wines Front Street Croton Falls, N.Y.
  • Croton Falls Shell Station Mart Route 22 Croton Falls, N.Y.
