BEDFORD-KATONAH, NY — Local green spaces will feature prominently in the lineup for this year's 18th Annual Hudson River Ramble.

The Hudson River Valley Ramble is billed as a series of events celebrating the history, culture and natural resources of the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area. The larger event includes opportunities to walk, hike, paddle and bike the landscapes, communities and trails of the region.

The Lewisboro Land Trust will host two guided hikes at the recently acquired Mount Holly Preserve on September 18. The guided hikes, led by preserve steward Paul Collura, will take place at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Each nature walk will last about an hour.

No reservations are necessary for this part of the ramble.

The Lewisboro Library will also host a family story walk at Westchester Land Trust’s Pine Croft Meadow Preserve on September 18, at 10 a.m. A walk through the grounds, which is home to many native wildflowers and the pollinators they attract, will feature story breaks throughout. No spoilers, but the children's story to be read aloud could "bee" enlightening, as well as entertaining.
