"The Addams Family: A New Musical" Opens Friday

The Bedford Community Theatre's 16th season opens with a creepy, kooky, spooky, ooky fun family musical!

If you hear ‘The Addams Family’ and immediately ‘snap, snap,’ then buy your tickets to Bedford Community Theatre’s fall production. After last season’s ‘Seussical’ and a fun, community cabaret fundraiser, ‘The Addams Family: A New Musical” is here!

Wednesday Addams has grown up and brought home a boy. Gomez is tearing his hair out. Not only has she brought home a boy, but she wants to marry him. And he’s normal. From a respectable family! Hilarity ensues with your favorite characters, Morticia, Pugsley, Fester and Grandma, as Gomez tries desperately to keep this secret from his beloved.

‘The Addams Family: A New Musical’ Book was written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and Music and Lyrics were written by Andrew Lippa, based on characters created by Charles Addams. The show has won the Drama League Award and the Drama Desk Award. It is presented in special arrangement with Theatre Rights Worldwide.

“The Addams Family: A New Musical’s’ production team is a combination of creative artists new to BCT and seasoned BCT pros: Director, Maeve O’Neill; Musical Director, Polina Senderova; Choreographer, Jennifer Silverman; and Co-Producers Jennifer Argo & June O’Neill.

Bedford Community Theatre is in its 16th year and is fully operated by community volunteers under the auspices of the Town of Bedford Department of Recreation & Parks. Our goal is to be a significant and valued cultural asset for the town by engaging the community in the production of affordable theatrical experiences for all ages, and to foster a love and understanding of all aspects of theatre arts while showcasing and developing local talent. There will be eight performances over two weekends at the Bedford Hills Community House located at 74 Main Street in Bedford Hills, NY. Showtimes are Fri. Nov. 15 at 7:00 pm, Sat. Nov. 16 at 2:00pm & 7:00 pm, Sun. Nov. 17 at 2:00 pm, Fri, Nov. 22 at 7:00 pm, Sat, Nov. 23 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, Sun, Nov. 24 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.bct1.eventbrite.com. Active duty military and senior citizens receive 50% discount.
