John Jay's ultimate frisbee team, called Air Raid, took the state title for the second year in a row—and the third time in 5 years—at a state-wide tournament sanctioned by the USA Ultimate Frisbee Association.

Held at a park in Schenectady, NY, the tournament pitted eight teams, including New Rochelle and Mamaroneck, against each other over two days.

Air Raid went undefeated.

Team member Kyle Abrams, a junior, said there was great energy from the whole team and a crowd of spectators who traveled upstate to cheer them on.

He has been playing the sport—a combination of plays and rules from basketball, football and soccer—for two years.

"It's exciting, and we have a blast doing it," he said.

What: Adult only year-end party for all parents and coaches, and fundraiser for Tony Ciccone.
Where:  Grand Prix, 333 N. Bedford Road, Mt. Kisco
When:  Saturday, June 2, 2012
Time: 7:30 – 11 pm
Cost & Registration: $75 in advance through FLYL website (see REGISTER tab along left column), $100 at the door.

Details: Wine, beer and dinner buffet. Raffle and silent auction to benefit Tony Ciccone, a former Fox Lane High School lacrosse Player who was paralyzed from the neck down playing lacrosse.

No. 4 Fox Lane fell to visiting No. 5 Carmel 4-0 in the Section 1 Class AA quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon according to Debbie Schechter's post on the LoHud Softball Blog.
