Echo Farm Show Team has just completed its first season competing in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA).
The IEA is similar to Intercollegiate Riding but is open to middle school and high school children. Teams travel to other barns that host shows and through a random draw ride horses they have never ridden before, for example, riders might draw a pony or a very large horse.
With no time to get to know the horses, riders must adjust quickly. In addition to basic riding skills, judging is also based on the riders' ability to adapt to a new horse.
