VNA & Hospice Care Foundation of Hudson Valley Announces Appointments of New Board Members

The VNA & Hospice Care Foundation of Hudson Valley announces the appointment of three new board members; Giulio Cefaloni of Mahopac, Mary Beth Morrissey of White Plains, and Kerry Filippone of Katonah.
Giulio Cefaloni, Senior Assistant Director of Technology at Fordham University, brings a vast background of community service and corporate experience to the board. He is a current trustee of the Mahopac Italian American Club, Chairman of The Annual Putnam County Columbus Day Festivities, past trustee/President/VP of the Mahopac Central School District, current member of The Town of Carmel Ethics Board and The Mahopac Central School District Health Advisory Council.

Cefaloni states “It is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve on this board. My parents received care from the VNA and Hospice Care and I truly appreciate the value of the excellent programs offered by this family of organizations.”
Mary Beth Quaranta Morrissey, J.D., Ph.D, is a local and regional advocate for patient rights, palliative care and healthcare ethics. A recipient of VNA’s Ellen Wood Health Care Award, Morrissey has also been recognized by numerous organizations such as Westchester County Public Private Partnership, Dept. of Senior Programs, and Fordham Graduate School of Social Service. She will be receiving the 2012 Mental Health Association of Westchester on the Move award on October 24, 2012. Morrissey’s service to the VNA organization includes work on the ethics committee and professional advisory panel.

Kerry Filippone, a realtor with Coldwell Banker in Bedford, has been actively involved with the Caring Circle Benefit for many years, serving as Chairperson along with her husband Tom for three years. Her leadership helped increase the revenues and reach of this event, while promoting the programs that benefit the community at large.
