Bedford Blaze Reported As Firefighters Called To Somers Fire

Residents of the second-floor apartment escaped unharmed.

BEDFORD, NY — Firefighters responding to a mutual aid call for a fire in Somers ended up battling a blaze next door to their firehouse. Fire started around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in the ground-floor dry-cleaning business of two-story building next to the Bedford Road firehouse.

The residents escaped from the apartment on the second floor unharmed, the Journal News said.

Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
