SOMERS, NY — A Somers woman was killed in a house fire in the early morning hours of Dec. 26. State Police and firefighters arrived at 12 Hickory Rd. around 2:15 a.m. The structure was fully engulfed in fire at the time.
The home’s sole occupant — Harmony Thaler, 46 — was found dead at the scene by fire personnel.
Police said the fire is not considered suspicious at this time. Fire officials believe the cause of the blaze was a space heater.

State Police were assisted by Somers Fire Department, Croton ire Department, Westchester County Emergency Medical Services and the Westchester County Fire Cause and Origin Team.
