Bedford Fire Department Moves Into New Digs After A 29-Year Journey
The Bedford Village Fire District said there will be plenty of opportunities for those in the community to see the station in person.

BEDFORD, NY — The Bedford Fire Department is moving into its brand new state-of-the-art firehouse, a day that crews have been eagerly awaiting for nearly three decades.
"We're moving in!" fire officials said in a statement released on Monday. "After 29 years of planning and building, we will be moving into the new headquarters at 550 Old Post Road over the next 6 weeks."
The Bedford Village Fire District said it will continue to issue updates until the station becomes operational and promised once the move is complete, that there will be plenty of opportunities for the community to see the station in person.

The Historic Bedford Firehouse is already on the market for a cool $3 million. Fire trucks aren't included, and all the cool toys will be moving to the new facility, but this Bedford landmark still has its charms.

The Bedford Fire Department and the Bedford Village Fire District celebrated 100 years of service earlier this year on Jan. 8.
"To move into the new headquarters and celebrate our Centennial in the same year is a unique and touching experience," the department said. "We wish to express heartfelt thanks for the support of our community as we strive to serve everybody’s emergency needs now and for the next century."
