Bedford Fire District To Vote On Revised Bond Resolution

A vote in May rejected a bond resolution asking for money.

BEDFORD, NY — The Bedford Village Fire District will have a special election Jan. 14 to vote on a revised bond resolution for the construction of a new fire station. The proposed station would be built on land currently owned by the fire district at 550 Old Post Road in the Town of Bedford.

The resolution calls for authorizing the issuance of serial bonds in the amount not to exceed $14.75 million. An additional $967,000 would be appropriated from the capital reserve fund.

The vote will be held from 6 a.. to 9 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Bedford Presbyterian Church Youth Room, 44 Village Green.

There are three more information sessions scheduled prior to the vote: 6 p.m to 8 p.m Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 10 and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 12.

In May, Bedford voters turned down a $17.5 million bond resolution in a 651 to 619 vote.
