Bedford Playhouse in Final Stretch for Fundraising Goal

BEDFORD, NY — Organizers of the Bedford Playhouse have raised more than $5.1 million toward their goal of $5.2 million needed to begin renovation and construction.

The website for the playhouse said $5.105 million was raised as of December 27, and additional $95,000 is needed by the end of 2016.

Plans for the renovation include three theaters, one of which will be large and in the style of “old Hollywood.” The two other theaters will be smaller and more intimate.

Featured will be first-run independent, foreign and documentary films, along with classics and family favorites, according to information on the website.
