Bedford Police Department Launches 'Anonymous Text Tips' Initiative
When an incident occurs that someone wants to report, they can text BPDTIP - and the information - to 847411 using their cell phone.
Looking to add another way for residents to relay information to the department, Bedford Police have launched an anonymous text tips initiative called ”tip411.”
When an incident occurs that someone wants to report, they can text BPDTIP - and the information - to 847411 using their cell phone. Anonymous tips also can be sent from the web using the department’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BedfordNY.Police.
“We believe the public is our greatest law enforcement resource,” said Chief William Hayes in a statement. “tip411 allows a safe and secure way for community members to share important information with police without the fear of retribution.”
