Bedford Resident Receives Bachelor's Degree From Hamilton College

Hamilton College is located in the Village of Clinton.

BEDFORD, NY — Adam A. Markhoff, son of Michael and Nancy Markhoff of Bedford, received a bachelor of arts degree from Hamilton College on Sunday, May 20, at the commencement ceremony concluding the college's 206th year. Hamilton awarded 477 diplomas in the ceremony.

Ford Foundation President Darren Walker delivered the commencement address.

A world politics major at Hamilton, Markhoff was a member of the men's lacrosse team and was named to the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team. He now joins an alumni body of more than 22,000, many of whom have made important contributions to business, the professions, government and the arts.

Originally founded in 1793 as the Hamilton-Oneida Academy, Hamilton College occupies a 1,350-acre hilltop campus overlooking the New England-style Village of Clinton, New York, and in close proximity to the Adirondack Park. The college's open curriculum gives students the freedom to shape their own liberal arts education within a research- and writing-intensive framework.
