BEDFORD, NY — The superintendent of the Bedford Central School District will be stepping down temporarily for medical leave. In an email to the community Sunday, Christopher Manno wrote about his love for the faculty, staff, community and families of the district.

"Unfortunately, I need to take some time away from this special place for medical leave," he said.

In his absence, Assistant Superintendent Joel Adelberg was designated acting superintendent of schools, per board of education policy.
