Boil Water Advisory For Parts Of Lewisboro After Water Main Break

Officials said the advisory was issued as a "precautionary measure" for businesses and residents served by the Wild Oaks Water Company.

LEWISBORO, NY — Officials have issued a "boil water advisory" for parts of the town served by the Wild Oaks Water Company.

The boil water advisory was put in effect for Town of Lewisboro residents serviced by the Wild Oaks Water Company, following a water main break. Officials said in an alert that the advisory is just a precautionary measure, but is expected to remain in effect until Wednesday.

A boil water advisory means that those in the affected area are strongly advised to boil all tap water at a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute prior to drinking it or using it to prepare food, wash dishes by hand or brush teeth, according to authorities. The advisory does not include bathing, washing clothes or using a dishwasher.
