Democrats Likely To Maintain Majority In County Legislature

By 12:30 a.m. Wednesday none of the races had 100 percent of precincts reporting.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Out of 17 races for Westchester County legislators six were contested Tuesday. There are currently 13 Democrats and four Republican or Conservative legislators.

As of 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, none of the contested races had 100 percent of districts reporting. However, based on the unofficial incomplete results, it seems likely the Democrats will maintain their majority.

The following are the unofficial results from the county board of elections for the contested races:

County Legislator District 1 (Cortlandt, Peekskill, Yorktown) (83 percent of districts reporting)

County Legislator District 2 (Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, North Salem, Pound Ridge, Somers) (92 percent of districts reporting)

  • Kitley S. Covill, D, I, WF (Incumbent) — 60 percent
  • Gina M. Arena, R, C — 40 percent

County Legislator District 4 (New Castle, Somers, Yorktown) (84 percent of districts reporting)

County Legislator District 9 (Briarcliff Manor, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining, Peekskill) (92 percent of districts reporting)

  • Catherine A. Borgia, D, WF (Incumbent) — 63 percent
  • Robert J. Outhouse, R, C, G, I — 37 percent

County Legislator District 10 (Eastchester, New Rochelle, Tuckahoe) (96 percent of districts reporting)

County Legislator District 15 (Bronxville, Yonkers) (85 percent of districts reporting)
