Former Prison Cook Had Sex With Inmate In Kitchen
He was one of three corrections employees arrested in May.

BEDFORD, NY — A former prison cook admitted in court Tuesday, Nov. 13 that he had sex with an inmate. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Garth Trail, 62, of Yonkers, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual act, a felony.
He is due back in court for sentencing Feb. 26, 2019.
Trail, who resigned as head cook at the Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, is currently free on bail.

He was arrested May 1 for engaging in a sexual act with an inmate victim on Sept. 27, 2017, in the kitchen area of the facility.
Trail was one of three employees of the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision who were arrested in May for illegal activities.

Iran Colon, 31, of Staten Island, was a correction officer at Taconic Correctional Facility. He pleaded guilty Nov. 7 to first-degree promoting prison contraband and third-degree criminal sexual act, felonies.
Former correction officer Melissa Hill of the Bronx was employed at Sing Sing Correctional Facility. She was accused of having a romantic relationship with an inmate in connection with her employment at the prison.
Sing Sing, which is located in Ossining, is a maximum security prison that houses adult males. Taconic is a medium security correctional facility that houses women only.
