Four More Inmates Arrested in Connection with County Jail Overdoses

A total of six inmates now have been charged.

Four more inmates at the Westchester County Jail have been charged in connection with the drug overdoses of at least 10 fellow inmates over the past couple of days.

County police announced the additional arrests Tuesday afternoon, which brings the total of arrests to six. All six are scheduled to be arraigned in Mount Pleasant Court on Thursday.

According to county police spokesperson Kieran O’Leary, the four were arrested following a jail-wide search, and they were “found with small amounts of drugs or drug paraphernalia.” O’Leary added that the items will be tested to confirm what types of substances they are. Earlier reports linked the overdoses to K2 or Spice, which is a synthetic form of marijuana.
