Funeral Held For Family Members Of Pound Ridge Murder-Suicide

The son was away at college at the time of the tragedy.

BEDFORD, NY — Friends and family said goodbye Wednesday to members of the Pound Ridge family who died in a double murder-suicide. St. Patrick’s Church in Bedford was the scene of the funeral for Steven Dym, his wife Loretta Dym and daughter Caroline, who was 18.

A college fund has been established for Steven and Loretta Dym’s son, William Dym, who was away at college at the time of the murders and suicide, News 12 said. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Police said Steven Dym killed his wife and daughter with a shotgun before killing himself Friday at their Pound Ridge home.

He had been accused of pilfering money from properties he managed and was sued for taking $20,000 from the bank account of a property owner.
