Husband Who Shot Family, Then Self Was In Financial Trouble
A 20-year-old son was away at college at the time of the shootings.

POUND RIDGE, NY — The husband who shot his wife and daughter before killing himself Friday had been experiencing financial troubles and had been accused of pilfering money from properties he managed. Steven Dym was sued, along with his Queens-based company, Garbriel Management Corporation, for taking more than $20,000 from a property owner’s bank account, the Journal News said.
State Police said Dym, 56, shot his wife, Loretta Dym, 50, and his daughter Caroline Dym, 18, Friday before shooting himself with a shotgun. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
A woman who arrived to clean the house at 23 Fox Hill Road found the bodies of the family.

Caroline’s brother Will Dym, 20, was away at classes at the University of Southern California at the time of the shootings, the Daily Mail said.
