The Steven Spielberg version of the classic Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim musical will be released "tonight, tonight" (Friday) in theaters and the eyes of local moviegoers will be on Annelise Cepero who attended Montclair State University after graduating form the Harvey School in 2013. She now lives and works as an actress, singer and dancer in New York City.
Cepero has the role of lead character Maria's friend Provi. Look and listen for her performing in some of Westside Story's most beloved numbers, including "America" and "I Feel Pretty." If you don't recognize her from the stage, she should be familiar from her roles in some of television's most popular shows, including Law and Order: SVU, Blue Bloods and Chicago P.D.
