'Hazardous Weather Outlook' Issued for Westchester County

Due to expected evening showers and thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Westchester County Friday afternoon as thunderstorms approached the area.

Rain and possible thunderstorms this evening were previously forecast, but not the NWS is upping the ante a bit.

“Thunderstorms ahead of a cold front late this afternoon and early this evening could produce an isolated damaging wind gust or two,” the Hazardous Weather Outlook reads.

Those gusts could reach 25 miles per hour during the overnight hours, and low temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s.
