Girls Lax

No. 1 Fox Lane defeated No. 3 Brewster in a classic, winning 11-9 in overtime in the Section 1 Class B championship game at Fox Lane High School on Thursday night as per Chris Perez' story on LoHud.com.

No. 2 John Jay defeated visiting No. 3 Somers 9-3 in the Section 1 Class B semifinals on Thursday according to MSG Varsity.

John Jay goalie Tom Branca made 15 saves with teammates Tommy Beckand Dan Lobosco leading the offense with three goals apiece.

Doug BrownAndrew Duffy and Matt Ferentini (1A) scored a goal apiece for John Jay.

Baseball

No. 16 John Jay (9-11-1) won its Class A outbracket game in grand fashion on May 23, winning 14-0 against visiting No. 17 Nyack (5-13) as per Rob DiAntonio's story on MSG Varsity.

Senior Will Jahn shut down the visitors over five innings to earn the win, scattering four hits while striking out three.

Center fielder Rob Malara had two hits and five RBI, including a bases clearing triple off the right field wall in the fourth inning.

Softball

John Jay

No. 16 John Jay beat No. 17 Walter Panas 6-4 in a Class A outbracket game at home on Thursday as per Rob Cristino's post on the LoHud Softball Blog.

Cristino reported that Kim Dolhon drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Indians a 5-3 lead. Dolhon finished 3 for 3 with two RBI and a run scored.

Winning pitcher Joanna Giordano recorded an RBI and fanned seven in seven innings pitched. Devon Novick was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run.

Fox Lane

Host Fox Lane's Christie Lombardi went 4 for 4 with a double, a home run, and three RBI in the Foxes' 15-0 triumph against visiting Croton-Harmon in six innings on May 22 according to this post by Cristino.

Teammate Isabella Rago added four RBI. Winning pitcher Allison Lombardi allowed only four hits and struck out four.
