It was a game that those who were there will never forget.

That game was of course the Section 1 Class B championship game between No. 2 John Jay (12-7) and No. 1 Yorktown (15-4) on Wednesday night with Yorktown coming out on top in a classic, winning 9-8 in overtime.
The Indians scored two goals inside the final 40 seconds of regulation to force overtime. Frazier Bostwick pulled the Indians to within 8-7 before Dan LoBosco's score with 11.2 seconds left tied the game at White Plains High School.

Connor Vercruysse though scored in overtime to give Yorktown the 35th sectional crown in its rich history.
Senior attackman Matt Ferentini led the Indians with two goals and two assists. Tommy Beck, Ryan Lee, Andrew Duffy and Doug Brown chipped in with one goal each with Fairfield-bound goalie Tom Branca coming up clutch again and again, making 18 saves.

Girls Lax
Section 1 champion Fox Lane easily defeated Section 9 champ Saugerties 19-3 in the Class B regional semifinals at Dietz Stadium in Kingston on Wednesday as per Chris Perez' story on LoHud.com.
The Foxes will now play Section 2 champ Queensbury Saturday at 8 p.m. at the University of Albany for the regional championship and the right to go to the state final four.

MSG Varsity’s first-ever Tri-State Quarterback Showdown, featuring the region’s top 25 high school QB’s, including Tyler Keech from John Jay High School, will take place on Sunday, June 3, at noon, at New Rochelle HS.
As a junior, Keech was named to the MSG Varsity Section 1 All-Star second team. He led the Indians to an appearance in the 2011 Section 1 Class A title game.
Judging the talented student-athletes will be Former NY Giants, Phil Simms and Amani Toomer, current NY Jets quarterback Greg McElroy, and former NFL player/current QB coach for Wagner College, Mike Teel.
