Kate Mara, Bedford Native, Stars in New 'Fantastic Four' Film

Mara stars as scientist Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman.

Actor Kate Mara, who grew up in Bedford, stars in a new film version of the “Fantastic Four,” a popular superhero franchise from Marvel Comics.

The first trailer for the new film is below. Mara stars as scientist Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, one of the Fantastic Four who are enlisted to save the planet from destruction after they obtain superhuman powers, accord to IMDB. Another version of the Fantastic Four was released in 2005 and starred Jessica Alba as Sue Storm.

Mara has had a long, successful acting career, including a critically acclaimed stint on the Netflix series “House of Cards.”

The latest version of “Fantastic Four” opens on Aug. 7, 2015, and a sequel has already been announced in which Mara will reprise her role.
