Katonah Elementary Students Learn About the New Tappan Zee Bridge

Two educators from the New NY Bridge visited the school.

KATONAH, NY — A recent visit by two educators from the New NY Bridge got Katonah Elementary Schools second grader interested in engineering.

Dan Marcy, an educator with the NY Thruway Authority, led the discussion, bringing with him artifacts from the bridge’s construction, according to information posted on the Katonah-Lewisboro School District website.

The students got to see and examine a section of cable, a hard hat, a reflective vest and oyster shells.
