Katonah Man Accused of Shoplifting at the Palisades Center Mall

Clarkstown police said a store staffer was hurt in a struggle during the incident.

Justin Headley, 26, faces charges of robbery 2nd (felony), assault 2nd (felony), petit larceny (misdemeanor), possession of burglar tools (misdemeanor) and criminal possession of stolen property 5th (misdemeanor) connected to an incident at the Palisades Center Mall.

Clarkstown police said they were called to the H&M at the mall at 8:55 p.m. March 6 for a report of shoplifting. Store staff told police a loss-prevention employee saw a man take clothes from the racks, put them in a bag and leave the store. When he did, two employees tried to stop him and a physical struggle ensued.

Headley, of Katonah, was taken into custody by police, who said that one of the employees, a 30-year-old West Nyack man, may have a broken finger.

The stolen merchandise was valued at $255.60.

Headley was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court, where bail was set at $50,000. He was transported to the Rockland County Jail, police said.
