Katonah Resident Earns Instructional Technology Designation

The Consortium for School Networking, a professional association for school system technology leaders, has recognized John Krouskoff and Sarah Martabano, both managers of the Model Schools Program at the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center, as Certified Education Technology Leaders (CETL).

Both Krouskoff and Martabano earned the certification after passing a rigorous two-part certification exam, in addition to demonstrating experience in the area of instructional technology.

The exam tested their knowledge in 10 skill areas, which are necessary to the success of a school’s instructional program. Some of skills include leadership and vision, strategic planning, ethics and policies, team building and staffing, communications systems management and more.

CoSN, a professional association for school system technology leaders, encourages educators to acquire the certification so they can stimulate engaging learning environments in the school districts they work with.

The CETL designation means they have mastered the knowledge and skills needed to bring 21st century technology to K-12 schools. To maintain the credential, they will need to complete 60 hours of professional development activities every three years.
