Mailing Deadlines Approaching For Christmas

Priority Mail Express will be delivered on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The clock is ticking if you are planning of using the U.S. Postal Service to deliver your holiday cards or packages. For mailing within the contiguous United States, the “send by” dates for expected delivery before Dec. 25 are as follows:

  • Dec. 14 — USPS Retail Ground
  • Dec. 19 — First-class Mail
  • Dec. 20 — Priority Mail
  • Dec. 22 — Priority Mail Express

Post office locations nationwide will be closed Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24. Christmas hours will be posted at each post office location.

Blue collection boxes will not be serviced on Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24. However, regular collections will be made on Saturday, Dec. 23.

For Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25, post office locations nationwide will be closed. Priority Mail Express will be delivered on Sunday, Christmas Eve and Monday, Christmas Day.

Regular mail will not be delivered Monday, Dec 25, but all post office locations will be open and regular mail delivery will resume Tuesday, Dec. 26.
