Meadow Pond Students Harvest Veggies, Enjoy Salad Day

Students helped plant vegetables and got to consume them at the annual event.

Katonah, NY — Meadow Pond Elementary School students lined up to enjoy fresh garden-to-table salads at the school’s recent Salad Day.

During their lunch periods, students ate the vegetables that they helped plant in the school’s Learning and Growing Garden earlier in the school year, according to a district spokeswoman.

Thanks to the help of the Garden Club, the vegetables were cared for and harvested at their peak for all to enjoy at the annual event.

Kindergarten students pitched in by helping to make a variety of dressings that were offered at lunchtime.
