Mt. Kisco Retail Roundup: Connie's Closing, Eateries & Salon Opening

Connie's To Close, Relocate to DC
At the end of the month, a major destination for sweets and knickknacks will be gone. Connie's Bakery & General Store has announced that it is closing its Mount Kisco store, along with its presence at Northern Westchester Hospital's gift shop, on May 31. The plan is to reopen Connie's in Washington, DC "in the near future," according to the announcement flyer posted on the storefront.
Despite leaving Mount Kisco, Connie's, which has been in operation since 2005, is encouraging folks to keep in touch.

"Once the new location is open, you will be able to order some of our baked goods from our online shoppe," the departure flyer reads.
It is not clear why Connie's is leaving and attempts to get comment have been unsuccessful.

East Main Street to Get 2 New Eateries: Asian & Mediterranean
Two vacant storefronts are busy again, with building permits posted and inside views through the windows obscured. 28 E. Main St., formerly the home of , will host an Asian restaurant, according to the building department, and 36 E. Main St., former home of the , will host a Mediterranean eatery. Both sites have been vacant since last year. We'll keep you posted on when they open.

Blow Dry Lounge to Open Thursday
Indulgence Blow Dry Lounge, a new hair salon, will open this Thursday, co-owner Dianna Ettari confirmed. It is located at 61 S. Moger Ave., in a common retail building with . It will specialize in blow dry service, explained Ettari.
Zee Gets New Site on Kisco Avenue, Will Move on June 15
now has a new location. Next month, it will be moving to 145 Kisco Ave., in the shopping plaza once anchored by .
"I think it's a great location," said owner Richard "Zee" Zolotorofe. He noted that it has convenient and free parking. The new property is smaller, at about 1,250 square feet versus the roughly 2,400 for his current space at 25 S. Moger Ave.
Zolotorofe attributed high rent to his decision to move. He has been reorienting the business - it has been in the village in several places since the 1950's - including setting up the further down South Moger to handle a formerly in-house product. Two products, toys and housewares, will be discontinued.
Mount Kisco Farm Likely to Stay: Owning Family Member
came and went at the end of April and the market is still business as usual. George Kim, whose family owns the store, said they are in the process of signing a new lease, with would last for five years and have an optional five-year extension. The deal is still in the works, he explained.
"It's 100 percent we're staying," he said.
MTK to Hold Grand Open on May 10
MTK Tavern, which is located at 30 E. Main St. and took over from the former Katie's Mac Irish bar, will have a May 10 grand opening, according to owner Jeffrey Rosen. For more information about the tavern, click here for its Facebook page.

For the past several days, the in downtown Chappaqua has undergone an interior remodeling, with new furniture and fixtures being installed. Tuesday was the last date in which abbreviated hours were announced so far.
Sherry B Coming to Chappaqua This Summer
Sherrby B Dessert Studio, which is moving into 65 King St. in Chappaqua, has announced with storefront signage and on its website, sherryb.com, that it will open this summer.
