New Restaurant Holds Grand Opening

The Rose Room, Mount Kisco's newest restaurant, held a grand opening on Tuesday evening and celebrated its local arrival.

The ceremony included a ribbon cutting, with the owners, their relatives, village officials and members of the local chamber of commerce in attendance.

The restaurant is located at 222 E. Main St., in the former site of F.A.B. It is owned by Somers resident Michael Lubic and his mother Lisa, who lives in Mahopac. They also own Traditions 118, which is located in Somers. Michael Lubic's grandfather, Eduardo Lubic, founded Eduardo's in Mount Kisco, while his son (Michael's uncle) Eddie, is its current owner. Eddie Lubic also owns Muscoot Tavern, which is located off of Route 100 in Somers.

“We're creating a monopoly," Michael Lubic said, lightheartedly, about his family's expansion. He added that they will have “two different types of cuisines, two different concepts.”  

The restaurant opened about three weeks ago, Lubic said, and has seen a  “a steady increase of volume.” Business generated was through word of mouth, he said.

The Rose Room's menu is an "eclectic" one, Lubic said. Cuisine is a mix of Italian and American, with food ranging from veal chops, to octopus, to homemade desserts. There is also a "pretty extensive" wine list.
