Next FREE Positive Birth Group - Northern Westchester Meeting is Monday, July 7th from 10 - 11:30 a.m.

The Positive Birth Group - Northern Westchester provides a warm and welcoming place to consider your freedom of choice in birth through knowledge of alternatives, accurate information, and support.  The Positive Birth Movement (positivebirthmovement.org) believes that every woman deserves:

  • Freedom of choice
  • Access to accurate information
  • To feel powerful and respected during labor and birth
Positive birth does not have to be "natural" or "drug free", it simply has to be informed from a place of positivity as opposed to fear.

The PBG-NW meets in Katonah the first Monday of every month and is open to women thinking of getting pregnant, pregnant women, new moms (babes in arms welcome), and interested consumers - regardless of their background, experience, or choices - to come together and share thoughts, feelings, and insights about childbirth.

Each month we will feature a guest speaker to prompt conversations relating to birth such as:  Choosing a provider or place of birth, preventing a cesarean, breastfeeding, creating a circle of support, and other issues the group wishes to explore.  Our July 7th meeting topic is "choice in birth."

PBG-NW is led by Facilitators Robin Jones and Julietta Appleton, both birth doulas.  Call Robin at 914.815.6723 for the meeting location; e-mail doulawestchester@gmail.com to join the PBG-NW mailing list.
